The web-slinging alternate cost lets her come down for {W} by bouncing a tapped creature, making her a tempo-efficient threat in prison/death-and-taxes shells. The chosen type is fixed at ETB (opponent picks nothing; controller chooses), but the effect is permanent and can chill instants, sorceries, or artifacts depending on the opponent's deck.
