Rationale
3cmc instant Lesson — sacrifice a land to search for up to two basic lands onto the battlefield tapped. Net-neutral ramp at best (sacrifice one, gain two) but costs a land drop, is instant speed (minor upside), and is restricted to basics. The Lesson subtype means it can only be "learned" from outside the game in formats that support that mechanic (Strixhaven), but is castable normally otherwise. Competing with Cultivate and Kodama's Reach at the same slot makes this fringe even in ramp shells; lands-matter decks occasionally want the fetchable-Lesson angle.
Learnings (3)
As a Lesson card, Cycle of Renewal can be retrieved from the sideboard by Learn spells (e.g. Inkling Summoning, Environmental Sciences). In Commander/Brawl the Lesson subtype has no mechanical impact since sideboards don't exist — it's just a castable ramp spell.

Sacrificing a land before fetching two basics means you can deliberately sacrifice a tapped land to avoid tempo loss, but you still net only one land and both new ones enter tapped — making this worse than Cultivate in most scenarios.

The instant speed is a rare upside over Cultivate and Kodama's Reach, enabling land fetches at end of turn or in response to effects that care about land count.
