Rationale

Fortune is a 2/4 legendary Beast Mount that ETB-scrys 2 and, when it attacks while saddled, exiles itself plus the saddling creature at end of combat and returns both to the battlefield — effectively flickering both. This makes it a strong blink/flicker enabler for ETB-heavy creatures in the same shell, and its saddle mechanic ties it to vehicle-matters and voltron strategies. The value is gated behind attacking while saddled, making it slower and conditional than dedicated flicker spells.

Learnings (3)

  • Fortune's end-of-combat flicker triggers ETBs on BOTH Fortune itself and the creature that saddled it, effectively doubling up on any ETB effects on the rider each attack cycle.

    tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6

  • The Saddle 1 cost is extremely low — almost any creature qualifies as a rider, which makes the flicker loop very easy to enable consistently.

    tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6

  • Fortune is a legendary creature, not a Vehicle, so it doesn't benefit from typical Vehicle-matters support cards, but it does interact with legendary-matters effects.
