Hakoda is a 4cmc 3/5 vigilance Human Warrior Ally that lets you look at and cast Ally spells off the top of your library, functioning as a tribal Ally enabler. His sacrifice ability grants the entire board +0/+5 and indestructible until end of turn, which is a powerful one-shot protection/fog effect against board wipes — signature in Ally tribal and tokens-go-wide shells that need to protect a wide board. The sacrifice is one-time and loses your commander, making him best suited for dedicated Ally-tribal or defensive go-wide strategies.

• The sacrifice ability is a one-shot fog-substitute against sweepers — timing it in response to a Wrath of God keeps your entire board alive at the cost of Hakoda himself, which is often correct since the board lives on.
