Rationale

J. Jonah Jameson is a 3cmc red legendary that (1) ETB-suspects a creature (giving it menace + can't block, a soft edict on defense) and (2) generates a Treasure per attack by any menace creature you control. The repeatable Treasure engine rewards running multiple menace threats or giving menace via other means; signature in treasure shells and red aggro that wants both board pressure and mana acceleration. Value drops without a critical mass of attacking menace creatures.

Learnings (3)

  • The 'suspect' ability grants menace to ANY creature (including an opponent's), meaning you can selectively neutralize a key blocker while simultaneously enabling your own Treasure trigger if you copy that menace effect elsewhere.

  • Jameson's Treasure trigger fires for EACH menace creature that attacks — running multiple menace sources (Goblin War Drums, Labyrinth of Skophos, etc.) turns him into a rapidly scaling mana engine mid-combat.

  • Suspecting your own creature is a valid play: the 'can't block' downside is irrelevant if the creature is already a dedicated attacker, and you net the menace Treasure trigger immediately.
