Rationale
Jegantha is a 5/5 for 5 that taps to add one of each color (WUBRG), but none of it can pay generic costs — making it a powerful color-fixer/combo-enabler but not a general-purpose mana rock. Its Companion ability is nearly free in many Commander/Brawl decks because most good staples avoid duplicate pips (Sol Ring, fetch lands, modal DFCs, etc.), letting Jegantha slot in as a free 8th-card option. In combo shells (especially Zirda/Selvala lines) the 5-color mana fuels specific activated abilities. The deckbuilding restriction is real but surprisingly light in practice.
Learnings (3)
Jegantha's mana restriction (can't pay generic costs) means the {W}{U}{B}{R}{G} can only pay colored pips — it cannot pay {1} of a {2}{U} spell's cost, sharply limiting which spells it can cast-assist.

The companion deckbuilding constraint (no repeated mana symbols in costs) is much lighter than it sounds: Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, fetch lands, basic dual-pip cards like {W}{U} (Absorb) are fine — only cards like Counterspell ({U}{U}), Dark Ritual ({B}{B}{B}), or Craterhoof Behemoth ({G}{G}{G}{G}) are banned from the 99.

Jegantha sees cEDH play not as a primary combo piece but as a nearly free companion that enables specific commanders (e.g., Sisay, Shrines, Zirda loops) whose lists naturally avoid repeated pip cards.
