Rationale

Krang is a 9cmc 9/9 colorless artifact creature with flying, trample, indestructible, and haste that also grants those four keywords to all other artifact creatures you control. The massive anthem effect is defining in artifact-creature go-wide shells, turning a board of constructs, golems, or token robots into an unstoppable army. At 9 mana with no color requirements, it is extremely slow and only competitive in artifact-matters or tokens-go-wide decks that can cheat it into play; as a commander-dependent top-end win condition, it is solidly fringe in fair mana builds.

Learnings (3)

  • Krang's colorless identity makes it uniquely usable as a commander or 99-card inclusion in any color combination, enabling non-green artifact decks (e.g., mono-white Teshar or Breya shells) to run a massive colorless finisher.

    tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6

  • The indestructible grant to other artifact creatures means a sweeper like Wrath of God or Blasphemous Act won't clean up your board while Krang is in play, making removal of Krang itself the opponent's critical priority before they can wrath.

  • At 9 mana with no color pips, Krang is a natural Quicksilver Amulet, Sneak Attack, or Elvish Piper target in artifact-cheating shells — its ETB haste means it attacks immediately even when cheated into play.
