Rationale
Mister Negative is a 7-mana 5/5 with vigilance, lifelink, and a potent ETB: optionally swap life totals with a target opponent, drawing cards equal to life lost if you come out behind. At 40 life, opponents in Commander often have more life than you, making the life-swap frequently favorable in 3-opponent games; in Brawl at 25 life, the math is tighter and the draw payoff is more reliably triggered after trades. Signature in lifegain shells and midrange/control builds that want a big stabilizing threat; expensive at 7 mana and competes for top-end slots.
Learnings (3)
The life-swap ETB is optional, so you can ETB it for the 5/5 vigilance+lifelink body alone if the swap would hurt you (e.g., opponent is at 2 life).
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
In multiplayer Commander, Mister Negative usually cannot profitably swap with high-life opponents who have been gaining life themselves; the card draw payoff depends on you currently having LESS life than the target, which is a conditional setup.

At 7 mana in a WB shell, this competes directly with other high-impact top-end finishers; the life-swap can act as a one-sided pseudo-reset that dramatically swings a losing game, making it stronger in reactive control builds than in proactive aggro.
