Rationale

Momo is a 1-mana 1/1 flying legendary that reduces the cost of your first non-Lemur flying creature spell each turn by {1} and pumps itself +1/+1 whenever another flying creature you control enters. It serves as an efficient flying-tribal commander or 99-card engine piece, enabling cost reduction across angel/bird/spirit/faerie payloads while snowballing in power as fliers accumulate. Best in flying-tribal go-wide or voltron shells where repeated ETBs of fliers grow Momo into a significant evasive threat.

Learnings (3)

  • Momo's cost-reduction is once per turn (your turns only) and excludes Lemur creatures, making it a reliable but not abusable discount engine for flying-heavy white builds.

  • Because Momo grows only until end of turn, the pump does not accumulate across turns — it resets each upkeep, so it functions better as a combat threat in the turn you flood flying ETBs than as a long-term voltron body.

  • White flying-tribal commanders like Momo pair especially well with blink engines (Conjurer's Closet, Teleportation Circle) to retrigger flying ETBs on Momo's own turn, stacking the +1/+1 bonus multiple times before combat.
