Rationale

Quintorius is a 4cmc Boros planeswalker commander who generates 3/2 Spirit tokens whenever cards leave the graveyard — payoff for self-mill, reanimation, flashback, and escape — and whose +1 is a discard-draw-mill looting engine that fuels its own static trigger. The -4 gives Spirits double strike and vigilance, making it a premier Spirit-tribal finisher in Boros. Strong in graveyard-matters and spirit-typal shells; slow for pure aggro or stax.

Learnings (3)

  • The graveyard-leave trigger fires on any cards exiting the graveyard — including when cards are exiled by escape, flashback, unearth, or opponent's graveyard hate — making graveyard hate like Rest in Peace actually trigger the token production.

  • The +1 looting ability creates a self-reinforcing loop: discard a card (card leaves graveyard on the mill step), draw two, mill one — each activation can net one or more 3/2 Spirit tokens from the mill trigger alone.

  • As a Legendary Planeswalker with 'can be your commander,' Quintorius uniquely bridges Spirit-tribal and graveyard-matters in Boros (a color pair with limited graveyard recursion), making him a niche but cohesive commander for both strategies simultaneously.
