Rationale
Scorpion is a 4-mana 3/3 deathtouch legendary that rewards creature death with a connive trigger at end of step — providing card filtering and potential +1/+1 counter growth. It fits best in aristocrats/sacrifice shells where creatures die regularly, though the once-per-turn, end-step trigger and nonland discard requirement make it a value engine rather than a bomb. Deathtouch makes it a reasonable blocker/attacker threat.
Learnings (3)
The connive trigger fires at the beginning of your end step, so creatures that die during combat or via sacrifice outlets earlier in the turn will satisfy the condition — but creatures that die after the trigger resolves won't count for a second trigger.

Because connive requires discarding a nonland card to place a +1/+1 counter, the card draw/discard is always guaranteed (good for looting/filtering), but the counter is conditional on hand composition — making it weaker in land-flood scenarios.

As a Scorpion Human Villain, Scorpion has three creature subtypes but 'Scorpion' is an extremely narrow tribe; the most relevant subtype for synergy is Human in black, though deathtouch is the primary play-pattern enabler.
