Rationale

Spider-Man, Brooklyn Visionary is a 5-mana (or 3-mana with web-slinging) 4/3 that ETB fetches a basic land onto the battlefield tapped, functioning as a one-shot ramp creature. The web-slinging cost (returning a tapped creature to hand) makes it a solid tempo play in creature-dense green decks, with natural synergy in blink/flicker shells that want to re-trigger the ETB and return a tapped dork for the web-slinging discount. At baseline it's too slow and too weak for optimized Commander; it fits casual/precon brackets well at its base role.

Learnings (3)

  • The web-slinging cost synergizes particularly well with tap-to-ramp mana dorks (e.g. Llanowar Elves): you cast Spider-Man for {2}{G} by returning the already-tapped dork, net gaining a land while rebounding the dork for future use.

  • Unlike most ETB ramp creatures, Spider-Man's web-slinging discount lets this effectively read as a 3-mana ramp spell in the right shell, making it surprisingly efficient at common rarity for casual Commander.

  • In blink/flicker decks the ETB can be replayed easily, but the web-slinging alternative cost is irrelevant after the first cast — the value is the ETB land fetch, not the keyword itself.
