Rationale
Tempestra creates a hasty, ephemeral copy of a creature you control by paying {2}{R}, tapping, and sacrificing an artifact — a high activation cost that demands both creature and artifact density. The copy is excellent for one-shot ETB value or combat damage but is automatically sacrificed at end step, making it a setup card for aristocrats/sacrifice payoffs rather than a standalone threat. The artifact sacrifice requirement is a meaningful deckbuilding constraint not met by most red decks.
Learnings (3)
The copy token is sacrificed at the START of the next end step, so it can attack and trigger on your turn even if you activate at sorcery speed during your main phase — but any end-step triggers on the token itself will be missed.
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
Because the token isn't legendary, Tempestra can copy a legendary creature you control and field two of them simultaneously for one turn, enabling double ETB value from legendary creatures.
tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6
The artifact sacrifice cost is a hidden build constraint — in mono-red, artifacts are often limited to mana rocks and equipment, so decks need to plan ahead to fuel repeated activations.
