Rationale

Teshar is a 4cmc legendary Bird Cleric with flying; its triggered ability recurs a creature with MV 3 or less from the graveyard whenever a historic spell is cast, enabling powerful loops in artifact-dense or legendary-matters shells. It is a premier combo/aristocrats commander or 99th card — capable of infinite ETB loops with cheap artifacts (e.g., Mox Amber, Ornithopter, sac outlet) that kill the table. In 1v1 Brawl it also excels as a commander that generates repeated value from artifact casts.

Learnings (3)

  • Teshar enables infinite loops without needing green mana or tutors: a 0-mana artifact (Ornithopter/Mox Amber), a free/cheap sacrifice outlet (Phyrexian Altar, Altar of Dementia), and a historic cast trigger can loop indefinitely — all in mono-white.

  • The historic trigger fires on Sagas and legendary spells too, not just artifacts — this means casting a legendary creature or planeswalker also fuels recursion, making the engine wider than pure artifact counts suggest.

    tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6

  • Teshar is best as the commander rather than in the 99 because the commander zone ensures the historic engine is always accessible; as a 99th card, losing the recursion target (Teshar itself) to removal stalls the loop entirely.
