Rationale
The Goose Mother is an X-cost Simic legendary that scales in size with mana investment, enters with X +1/+1 counters, creates Food tokens equal to half X (rounded up), and converts those Foods into card draw on attacks. It functions best as a commander or top-end mana sink in ramp-big-mana shells, where spending 6–8+ mana yields a large evasive threat, several Food tokens, and repeatable card advantage. Signature in food-matters and plus-one-counters/counters-voltron strategies; the attack-triggered draw requires it to survive to combat, adding dependency on protection.
Learnings (3)
As a commander, The Goose Mother's X is paid from the command zone cast, so each re-cast after a commander tax costs {X+2}{G}{U} — the extra tax on X makes commander-zone repetition expensive and rewards protecting it rather than recasting.

The Food-to-draw trigger requires attacking, so in multiplayer it incentivizes going wide to have multiple attack targets; in Brawl 1v1 the draw engine is more reliable since there is always one opponent to attack.

Half X rounded up means odd X values are more efficient for Food generation (X=3 gives 2 Foods, same as X=4), so players should bias toward odd X casts when Food tokens are the priority.
