Rationale

3cmc 3/3 first strike that grows and generates Treasure whenever a nontoken creature leaves your battlefield (once per turn). Signature in aristocrats and sacrifice shells where creatures cycling through the battlefield is routine; also fits treasure-matters builds. The once-per-turn cap and nontoken-only restriction meaningfully limit the payoff — tokens-go-wide and voltron get nothing from this card's triggered ability.

Learnings (3)

  • The trigger fires on ANY leave-battlefield event for nontoken creatures you control — not just sacrifice — so wraths, bounces, and blinks all trigger it, making it synergistic with flicker effects despite not being a flicker payoff itself.

    tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6

  • The once-per-turn cap means mass-sacrifice combos (e.g. Goblin Bombardment + infinite token loop) don't generate infinite Treasures or counters — only one trigger resolves per turn cycle.

    tagging · claude-sonnet-4-6

  • Because the trigger requires nontoken creatures, decks leaning heavily on token producers (Krenko, Chatterfang) get little value unless they also run a nontoken creature package.
